I am a Lecturer in the Department of Political Science at Stanford University, where I am also a member of the Stanford Civics Initiative and affiliated faculty at both the Stanford Center for Latin American Studies and the Stanford Center on Poverty and Inequality.
Previously, I was a Postdoctoral Associate in Economics at New York University Abu Dhabi and a Visiting Scholar at the University of Bordeaux. I hold a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Los Andes.
My research explores the intersection of social networks and economic history, with broader interests in entrepreneurship and political economy. My regional expertise focuses on Latin America and the Middle East.
Beyond academia, I contribute regularly to the public conversation as an op-ed columnist for Forbes and as the host of The Economic and Political History Podcast and The Civic Agora.
